A collaborative 35mm film project
Superimposition is a group project exploring shared authorship through film swapping. Each participant exposed a roll of 35mm film, then passed it on for someone else to expose a second time.
The double exposure process removes planning and control, allowing chance and coincidence to play a major role. The resulting images are unpredictable combinations of two separate viewpoints — sometimes complementary, sometimes chaotic, but always revealing something new.
A selection of the results have been printed as a book. It celebrates the collaborative and experimental spirit of analogue photography, where overlapping ideas and layers of light create unexpected connections between photographers.
